I was able to work on some of my pages this week. These are pictures from last year's Valentine's Day. It is amazing how fast time flies!!!! This was also part of a multi layout challenge on 2Peas (I have not posted it there yet...). I love my family!!!!

Today was a fun shopping day! I was armed with some 40% and 1 50% off coupon and President's Day! What more did I need! I was able to get some fun stuff at Michaels (I have not been there in awhile) and boy did Khols have a great sale! My girls will be very stylish for the next few weeks!!! I wonder if Mr. Lincoln ever thought his day would be filled with sales??? (hmmmm??? good question dontcha think). Since everyone was home we were able to go to lunch together and enjoy the afternoon together.

2Peas Challenge....If you only had 5 more years to live, would you change anything about your life?
Wow! that is a crazy question. On one hand I would say I would want to be filthy rich so I can travel and see the world (with my family) before I leave. I would also want to have all my scrapbooking caught up with (history for my girls). I would also want to spend every moment with my family (if I was filthy rich they would not need to work....) and we would laugh, sing, cry, yell at the universe "why us???", remember our past and make new memories together. Yes...if there is one thing I would change that would be it....every possible moment with my family and money to be able to do this. However, on the other hand when I look at my life it is pretty good. I am blessed with a great man and 2 incredible daughters. We love eachother and we try to celebrate life as a family and as individuals so would I change that??? not sure....

Happy Chinese New Year!

One of the things I love about our family is the way we celebrate everything!!! Today is the start of the Chinese New Year celebration. It is the year of the pig (I love pigs!) and it was fun to see that one of my agents is a "pig" and he is so excited because this is his year! May he have much success this year and happiness!!
I love learning about other cultures and one day I hope to be able to travel to China and visit all the beautiful places there (I can't wait to be atop the Great Wall of China).
This year we went out to celebrate at our favorite Chinese restaurant and as usual it was yummy (we go there every Sunday and love love love it!). It was great to see the place decorated and the flowers and excitement that greeted us! Good Times!
Happy Chinese New Year and may it be a wonderful and exciting year for all of you!!!!

Books currenlty reading

What's a book you are reading right now? anything?

I am reading at least 3 romance novels! I love love love reading them! I remember going to the library on the way home from high school and discovering them! I have been hooked since! LOVE them!

I also have a few "work" motivation and leadership books I am reading at work (not as fun and my other 3 but very insightful and helpful to me as a leader).

I will always have at least 2 books going at one time (i usually have one in the bathroom, my purse and living room!). There is nothing like a good book to pass a few minutes and what is a bubble bath without a book???

Happy Friday!!! I love Fridays!

Tonight we stayed home and had some yummy beef stew! It was great to have something warm on such a cold and windy day. The stew made the house smell warm and cozy. We caught up on some of this weeks shows....

The Beauty and the Geek....this is the first season we watched this series and we (all) loved it! All of us we glad when Cece did not win. We loved her partner but if one had to judge which team made the biggest changes it would not have been Cece. It was a fun show and we can't wait for the next one...

American Idol...Wow! Hell week was just that...Hell Week! We were disappointed with some of the people who were not picked. And some of the ones they picked...hmmmmm. Interesting. Well...me and my girls are definitely cheering on the males! There seems to be many strong ones this year. I love the one with the curly hair and glasses! He is great!!! There are a few girls (3 tops) I liked. Well...time will tell.

**************************************

I was looking at other blogs and came across this one. It looks fun because it gives you 5 things to write about on Fridays. Fun!!!

Five in a Row
1. Name one thing you do everyday. search through my DVR to see what I have to catch up on.

2. Name two things you wish you could learn. How to knit and make jewelry and speak Spanish (ok..that's 3 things...i cheated.)

3. Name three things that remind you of your childhood. My Christmas ornaments, St. Joseph's Church (I went to a Catholic School) and anything plaid!

4. Name four things you love to eat but rarely do. Shrimp, Steak, Greens and Chicken Enchiladas (Yummo!)

5. Name five things that make you feel good. My husband, my daughters, shopping and snuggling under the covers early in the morning on weekends (i normally get up at 4 am so sleeping "in" is wonderful!!!).

Thursday's 2P's challenge...List a song that you really just love the LYRICS. Which lyrics in which song really speak to you?

One of the songs that I am sooooo loving right now is from this wonderful group (are not they yummy!!). I love the song "My Wish". When ever I hear the song I have to turn in up and sing along. The words are wonderful and I my thought are always turned to my daughters when I am singing. My wishes for them are everything in the song....

Artist/Band: Rascal FlattsLyrics for Song: My WishLyrics for Album: Me & My Gang

I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,

And each road leads you where you want to go,

And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,

I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.

And if one door opens to another door closed,

I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,

If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,

Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,

All the ones who love you, in the place you left,I hope you always forgive,

and you never regret,And you help somebody every chance you get,

Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,

And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,

Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold,

And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,

Yeah, this, is my wish.

HAPPY VALENTINE' S DAY!!!!

Today has been a fun day so far...I was able to get 1/2 the day off (for me that is great since that means I am off by 10:30 am!). I went to work and handed out my goody bags and Valentine's (Sponge Bob was chosen this year). It was fun!! I wanted to surprise Genesis (she is in high school and they do not have Valentine parties ...how sad...) with some cupcakes for her class. I went to Sam's and bought some yummy one's (I hope she saves us one????). She was in chapel so I left them with a friend. I sure hope she was surprised!!!

2Peas Challenge:

Who would you like to trade places with for one month????

I think it would be wonderful to be able to trade places with my mother or grandmother for one month (when they teenagers). I would love to see how they lived and what was important to them. I would also love to be able to get a close look into their lives, loves, likes, dreams and hopes during that time. Wow!!! What an experience that would be for me. I have a feeling I would come away from the experience viewing them in a different light. Yes...the more I think about it the more I am convinced I would love to trade places with one of them for a month. Talk about a life experience!

Blog about the most fave thing you like to wear at this time of year.. blog about it!
Let's talk clothing!

One of my favorite times of the year is the winter. I love all the sweaters I get to wear and who doesn't look good in black! This is a great time for black! I also love all the chunky jewelry I get to wear with my winter clothes. Yep...I love winter!
I would say the most favorite thing I love to wear at this time of year is...scarfs!!! I LOVE SCARFS!!! I have to own 25+ scarfs. I love to add 2-3 a year to my collections and when I have time I will crochet long long scarfs in fun colors. I have big bulky coats so having a scarf helps me stay warn on chilly days. I also like the fact that I can wear jeans and a shirt and add a scarf and poof!!! I am ready to go!!! Yep.....love...LOVE...LOVE scarfs!!!

Sunday!!! good and bad...

Today was a good and bad day! It was the Superbowl (that is good!) and it is also the last "real" game of the season (that's bad!).

the good....the game was great!!! We were a little freaked out when the Bears made that first touchdown BUT...the Colts were able to stay focused and BOOM!!! The Won!!! Wahoo!!!! Good Times!! We enjoyed the commercials (some of my favs were the ones about the business group that was in the "wild". The last man standing gets the promotion was FUNNY!!! Prince was awesome and we enjoyed everything about his half time performance (I thought his "headwrap" was a hoot!!!). Purple Rain was great!!! It was a very entertaining game this year!!!

the bad...football season has ended (I know their is one more game but really...is that a game????). What are we going to do on Sunday afternoons? What is going to happen to the Monday morning rush hours (in Denver you can tell if the Broncos won or lost by the way traffic flows on Monday mornings)? *sigh*

what to do...what to do...

Go COLTS!!!!

Tommorrow is the big day!! I can't wait to watch the pregame, the game and the commercials!! It's going to be "good times!!!". I have to say I sure wish it was the BRONCOS who were playing...*sigh*. I am going to be sad when football season ends. It has been so much fun to watch my daughter fall in "love" with football and the Broncos this season. Every Sunday Reggie and Bridgette can be found in front of the tv watching a game. I am really impressed with how much she knows about football and the players and coaches!! She reminds me of me when I was a teenager! I know Reggie is thrilled to have a football "buddy". She is already having "withdrawls"!!!
Now we have to decide what we are going to eat during the game (you know that is a huge part of the game!). hehehe

Groundhog Day

Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow!!! I am going to keep my fingers crossed that we DO have an early spring!!
I do have to ask myself a very important questions...why do we look to a groundhog to let us know if Spring will come early or late? Why not a pig (I love pigs) or a frog (I love frogs)??? Why is it a groundhog? It's one of those things that makes me go "hmmmmmm"...
February...I love this month!

Today's 2Peas Challenge....Are you afraid of anything? What are your fears?
I have a few fears that "freak" me out...
* I am afraid of being "closed in" for long periods of time. The thought of being stuck in an elevator freaks me out!!! And...(I am breathing hard just thinking about it...) when I watched Nick in the coffin a few seasons ago I freaked! uggggggghhh!!!
* When I am in one of those wierd moods I can fear the unknown! Not knowing what is going to happen next can freak me out (I am a control freak at heart!!!).
I will confess if I did not have faith that God was in control and everything happens for a reason I would fear everything (I think that is built in a woman...hehehe).

Reflections of January

We were able to get to the movies this month and this is what we watched. They were both good but WOW!!! You had better have some kleenix when you see Freedom Writers. *sniff*sniff*

Wow...I cannot believe January is already gone! Today is a new month! Wow!!! I have this feeling 2007 is going to be gone before we know it! The great thing is that January was a VERY fun and productive month...

*I was able to start exercising on a consistent basis.
*I lost 5+ pounds!
* I started drinking more water.
* I started this blog!
* I am taking more pictures (and started a blog to highlight them!).
* I became energized towards my work and am loving my job again!
* I am scrapbooking more!
* I received my 2nd Louis Vuitton and my first G&B purse!!!
* I went through an exciting leadership training.

Yep....January was a good month!!! It was a month to be celebrated!

I am soooo looking forward to February!

...Today I was so excited because I was able to see one of Genesis's basketball games! They won (14-12)and it was an exciting game. I love to watch her play and when she gets mad you can see her chin jut out! Her chin was jutting today. I wish she knew just how good she was and the great things she could do if she would practice her shots (hehehe). There is nothing like cheering for her and her peers (and boy can I get loud!!!). We were also able to watch the boys and that was fun!!! *sigh* It's kind of sad to think next year will be her last year playing High School ball.
