The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some common goal setting tips:
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.

2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.

3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.

4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.

5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

PROUD!!!

proud of the incredible human being she has become. Proud of the choices she has made (i may not have agreed with all of them...but they brought her to this moment in time...) and I am proud of the love she has for God, her family and friends and humanity. She is a great person and it is a privilege to have been able to raise her and watch her grow!! Wow!!! 18 years old!!! My baby girl is 18 years old today and I love her soooooo!!!!

Happy Saturday!!! I am sooo excited about the weekend (I am not sure why but hey! it's the weekend!!!). Well, one thing I am wanting to get back into is exercising so.....I thought I would get some motivation! I was reading on tesh.com and found some motivation!!!

Stop being tired all the time. All it takes are three 20-minute workouts! A recent University of Georgia study found that after three workouts, people boosted their energy levels by 20%! If you keep it up – even if your workout is only walking – you’ll reduce your fatigue for good. However, if you find yourself avoiding any exercise, try these tricks for motivation. We got this advice from Woman’s World magazine.

  • Drink a cup of coffee on the way to the gym. It takes 20 minutes for the caffeine to kick in – and once it does, you’ll be able to swim, bike, run or row faster, longer and farther than if you didn’t have any caffeine. That’s according to a Scandinavian study. Contrary to popular belief, the caffeine won’t dehydrate you. It’ll stimulate your body and mind, giving you the energy to stick with your workout. That’s according to Dr. Chris Eschbach, a professor of health and sports science at Meredith College in North Carolina.
  • Another trick to increase your energy and help you stick with your workout: Exercise with friends. People who go walking with a friend typically go 14% farther than those who go solo. It’s simple psychology. Being with a friend makes exercise more enjoyable so it’s easier to pick up the pace and workout for a longer period of time. In fact, people who exercise with friends workout for 20% longer.
  • Another way to motivate yourself for a workout: Music. When overweight people listened to music while walking, they lost twice as much as a similar group who walked in silence. Why? Because it’s natural for your body to try and match the tempo of the music you’re listening to.
  • Get some zinc to make your workout easier. Exercisers who don’t get at least 15 milligrams a day are more likely to lose their breath while working out. Why? Because zinc buffers acids in the bloodstream, allowing your body to burn off carbon monoxide, which keeps you from feeling short of breath. So, talk to your doctor about taking a zinc supplement – or simply eat more mushrooms, pumpkin seeds or soy products - which are all rich in zinc.

I think I am going to go for the music!!! and maybe some zinc (the coffee think is interesting but...well I am a coke lady myself!!)??? hmmmm....

Friday!!! Wahoo...it is the weekend! Boy this week went fast! Real fast! I was busy at work and slothfully busy at home (you know the "barely keeping up to make sure nothing goes crazy but really not doing much at home thing!!!). Did some laundry, made some dinners, grocery shopped, paid bills, watered the lawn...you know!!! And this weekend....hmmmmmmm i know i want to catch up on some scrapbooking so I am hopeful, I also need to see what my baby girl wants to do on her birthday and plan it!!! FUN stuff!!!
I have been in 2Peas and it feels good! I forget how much I love looking at other peoples work! It truly inspires me! I am also looking for another kit club (2 replace the 2 i left) and they have lots of ideas there!!! I am hoping to post some of my work there this weekend...time will tell.
Well last night was one of those 10+ hour days so I am going to get going to bed (we had Happy Hour and the team loved it...thanks hunny bunny for "making me do it!!). I made spinach dip, had ice cold pops, we listened to old Motown music and played a game!!! I am glad I did it...now to plan for next week!!!!
I have been working on my 101 list (who knew it would be such a challenge!!). I am hoping to finish by this weekend!! Time will tell...

Wow! We watched the movie "The Great Debaters" this weekend (with Denzel Washington) and what a great movie. It was even more dynamic when we found out it was a true event! Wow!!! I thought it was going to be about debating but it was so much more! At the end of the movie I found myself hating any scene that involved a car!!! Trust me...when you see if you will know what I mean. It was great to have my baby girl watch it and explain some of the things that were happening. Not good...but facts! I was appalled to learn where the work "lynching" came from and the scene with the tree was horrific (but I know in my heart true on so many levels). The movie is not for the faint of heart (nothing gruesome...more mental) and if you can please watch it! It is very inspiring and can touch you (I love movies that can do this!!)...and yes...it does make you think!! Good Stuff!!!

Boo made it home safely (something we are very thankful for!). We went to pick her up and she sounded like she had a good time. She did not see lots of sites in Vegas so her trip in August should still be exciting (ok...so I am a little selfish and am a little glad...teeehehehehe). I am starting to get excited about Vegas and look forward to planning our trip. I have some other things to accomplish first but...i am excited!!! and i am excited to take lots of pictures and celebrate Boo's 21st birthday!!!
Before we can celebrate her birthday we will be celebrating Gigi's 18nth birthday (wow! where does the time go...). We are still waiting to see what she wants to do...knowing her that could be done the day of...teeehehehehe...you have to LOVE her!!!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

ok...we are now down to hours before Boo comes home. We talked to her today and she sounded good. She was going to see some site seeing with friends today and then they would be taking her to the airport in the early morning (4 am!). I am a little worried...a huge airport!!!
today was Father's Day and it was kind of sad!! Hunny bunny is still looking like Quasimodo (his words not mine...) and when he woke up it was worse. He called the doctor and they want to give it another day...hunny bunny also forgot he was suppose to keep a cold compress on it yesterday and he did not!! He has today and we can see a huge difference! I soooo hope it is a 100 times better tommorrow! We are hoping to celebrate Father's Day next week...
i was "surfing" yesterday and found 2 sites...1 is about 101 things to do in 1001 days and the other is a picture a day...hmmmmmm...i am debating on both of them. They sound fun, challenging and well...maybe a little to challenging! hmmmmmm... Speaking of challenges I am getting motivated to start some scrapbooking challenges again...now to find the time!!!
Wow...there has been so much that has happened and life has been so busy!!! I am happy to say that during all the craziness...we took time to live, love and yes...laugh!!! So now that I have a few minutes I am making (yes...making!!) myself sit down and do some recapping!!

* Gigi had her prom! She and her friends we beautiful! It was touch and go at the end (her dress came in 5 days before prom!!! but everything worked out!!) The theme was Mardi Gras!!! (I will share pictures later!)

* Training...I have been spending so much time away from my team for training!!! I am learning some exciting things and we will see how it goes to "FISH"!

* Graduations!!! Wow!!! We have attended so many parties and received so many invitations and announcements this year!!! It has been so amazing to see all these awesome young people graduate!!! We are soooooo Proud of them!!

* Hair!!! AUUUGHHHHHH!!! My baby cut her hair!!!! Ohhhh...it was a sad experience for me (yes, I cried!!!). I
t was also a very expensive experience ($175.00). She went very short and I guess the important thing is she likes it! (note...i am still debating if i should fight this because of the horrible experience!!)

*Gigi graduated!!!! Wahooooooooooo!!! We are soooooooooooooo proud of her and she worked so hard (yes it was touch and go for awhile b
ut she made it!!!). Awesome job Baby Girl!!!! Wahoooooooooooooooooooooo!!! It was such a wonderful ceremony (there were 6 graduates!). Gigi gad an incredible speech and I cried and cried!!! Everyone went to dinner after and it was very special!!!

* Aunt Ether Mae came into town for some training and we were able to visit with her (we went to our favorite restaurant...Senor Rics...yummy!!)

*Boo completed another semester and received straight A's!!! WOW!!! She also entered 2 writing contest on campus and she had honorable mention in one and the other one she won 1st place!!!! WOW!!!! I have a writer who is getting paid for her work!!!!

*Graduation Luau...it was fun but such a lot of work! (I was able to get a new grill out of it....) It was real special to have so much family there!!! The were awesome!!!

*Our computer is acting weird and might be sick!!! Yucko!!!!!!!!

*Boo has taken her 1st trip without us! She is currently in California and was in Vegas...all to see Panic At The Disco!!! She is with friends and boy....what an eye opener to us!!! We miss her.

*Boo had her dance recital. She worked real hard and WOW!!! She has really improved and boy can she dance!!! She was FANTASTIC!!!

*Boo received her first ticket!!!! AUUUGGHHHHH!!!!! not good!

*Gigi is starting to drive!!! *sniff..sniff...as if graduation was not enough now she is driving...my baby is grow
ing up!!!**

*I have started beading (one of my goals) and am really liking it!!

*We have been learning about "GIFTS" at church and it is really impacting our family!!! It is one of those things that is changing us and will continue to change us (so much more on that later).

*I am scrapboooking more and taking more pictures...smile!!! I am sooo falling in love with mini-books!!!

o.k.......I think that covers some of the big things. So...our hope is that things will slow down but from the looks of things I don't think so (Gigi went to see a concert tonight at we had to taxi her and her friends, Boo comes in on Monday, my hunny bunny has a horrible eye allergy (we were in the emergency room this morning), the computer is still wacko and...we have to see what Gigi is going to do come August...ohhh and I am thinking about putting together a family reunion...WOW!!!). I am sooooo hoping to get back into blogging (I love it!) but we will see. In the meantime I will continue to take pictures and maybe, just maybe...force myself to sit down every few days and update~~~~
