Today we went to see the newest Harry Potter movie. Boo went to see it the night it came out (at midnight!!). This was her 2nd time. I must confess I was not real thrilled to see this one but boy was i glad i did! It was a real good movie! It received 3 thumbs up and one thumb down (Gigi). Bridgette has been trying to get me to read the books. I think I will put that on my 101 list of things to do...read all the books (now that the last one has been released). Bridgette and i were talking and remembering the first time i brought a Harry Potter book home. She had no idea who he was at the time (I had heard about the books from my boss at the time...Steve). Boo loved it so much and from that day she was hooked! Who knew.... *me...hehehehe*

Were back....

Wow!! Time flies and when you are on vacation it soars!!! We had a wonderful week and though I am glad to be back I am also sad. *sigh*
We were able to cross off the Midwest states from our list (yippee) and the trip was not as boring as we thought it would be. We did some fun things and I took more than 2,000 pictures (yes I said 2,000). It's going to be awhile before i download d all of them but when I do I can start showing off our great trip. I can say we all LOVED Chicago! What an incredible city. Wow!!! My daughter loved it so much she started looking at graduate schools in that city!
I am going to take some more day off to relax before joining the real world. We have 1 more full week to see some movies, eat out (Mommy is not cooking all week!!!), and maybe see the Bronco's in training camp!!! Good Times!

I cannot believe how fast time has flown by! Wow! It seems like just yesterday was the first day of summer and this vacation seemed so far away!!! Now it is upon us and there is so much to do! I am excited about being off for 2 weeks however...I am finding it hard to get into this vacation. Maybe it is because I have not put lots planning into this one. Normally I have a n agenda and I know what we are doing every day and every hour. Not this time.... I think this is going to be one of those laid back vacations. I know my family will like this but me...well time will tell (smile!). Well...back to getting ready (*sigh*)

Pain and age!!!

Pain...i hate it!! I know everyone hates pain but darn! My knee has been hurting for a week and it is not getting any better. Reggie thinks it is because of all the cleaning I have been doing (I have also been changing furniture around and working in the patio...). I am not sure why it hurts, I only know it hurts and I am getting tired of it. I am not using Bengay at night (my poor bedroom smells like the stuff and it smells like a hospital when i go in there!!!). I am sooo getting frustrated with this and I can't help but think...is age playing a role in this???? How HORRIBLE!!!!!
One of the things I am not looking forward to is the "aches and pains" I hear about. It seems that when one gets over a certain age all we hear is about how there bodies are breaking down! It is kind of depressing.... What is that is me! What is I become that person who is always talking about bones creaking and stiff!! AAAGGGGGHHHHH!!! I am doing it right now!!!! VIOLATION!!! *sigh*

* I sure do! I love printed fabrics! I have a few shirts, some hair scarfs and jewelry in animal print.

* That is a hard one...I would have to say it would be a bird of type. They are always singing and chatting and seem to be happy all the time!! They also work to keep there nest protected and well cared for.

* a pig!!!!

* yes i would wear both fur and leather (but not the real type, just the fake will do for me!)

Gigi's birthday party!!! We had a Birthday party for her. She had some friends over and they played some games and then we treated all of them to a movie...Transformers! They had a blast. We then ended the night at out home with food and cake! Good Times!!!

Today is our "plan the vacation" at Bennigan's date with Reggie!! Every year Reggie and I visit Bennigan's and we plan our vacation. Reggie brings his newest USA road map and I will bring my ideas and books. I order Monte Carlo and Reggie gets...whatever strikes his fancy! The visit always signals the "go ahead" for our trip and we both look forward to our "yearly date". I wonder what great plans we will make this year.

busy bee

finally!!! an overcast day!!!I am so loving it! it has been in the high high 90's this past week and bot has it been hot!! hot!! hot!!! I love the sun and I love the warm weather but the heat we have been experiencing has been horrible! It felt good to run errands and not sweat out 3 gallons of water! hehehe.
This is going to be a very busy week and work and at home. I have so much to do getting ready to give up my current team (which I love) and get ready for the new team! And then there is the move! wow! I also have to deliver some focuses! Talk about a busy work week (did I forget to mention meetings, 2 team lunches and serving it all up with a smile....hehehe)
This does not include the home front!! Wow!!! I have soooooo much to do before Gigi's party on Saturday! Plan the menu, order the cake, make the treasure hunt list!!! I love parties and I am usually so excited to plan these but this week is a little crazy!!! The one good thing is it starts later in the day so I will have some extra time on Saturday for preparations!

A BAJA VW (it was grey and had huge back wheels and a tape player with a stereo system that rocked!!!!). *sigh*i loved that car!!!!

Today we sent to see TRANSFORMERS!! I had heard such great things about the movie and i was little worried it might not be that good. Well...WOW!!! What an AWESOME movie. All 4 of us loved it!! Talk about action! WOW!!! It had you from the start and did not finish until the end. It was...WOW!!! I fell in love with Bumble Bee (sigh). My husband grew up with transformers so it was cool to see him watch the movie ( he LOVED it!!). I would recommend it to everyone and i think we will be seeing it again! It received 4 thumbs up from the Burgess family!!!!

company day at the Zoo...

Today was a fun family day! After church we went to the Denver Zoo. We have not been there in a while and it if we went it was in the evening (Holiday lights). So it was extra fun seeing lots of the animals! My favorites are...

The only bad thing was the heat!!!! It was in the high 90's and it was soooo hot. Most of the animals were in the shade cooling off so we did not get to see lot's of movement from them. I enjoyed spending the day with Reggie and the girls. I loved watching the girls walk in front of us. At one point they were holding hands and that brought a smile to me! It so reminded me of when they were small and they would always hold hands when we were in public (I think they were each others security blanket).
Our company did a wonderful job!!! The food was awesome (fajitas, cold pop, rice, beans, taqitos, ice cream and cotton candy!!!). There was also face painting and a famous Bronco!!! I just love my company!!!!
I also had a blast taking lots of pictures!!! Enjoy some of them.....

another cleaning day...this time i am going after the family room and reading area!!!! GRRRRRR!!! Lots to do and so little time. Well...I will focus on the end result! I am also looking forward to the new "American" theme I am going to add!!!
Hobby Lobby was having 60% and 90% off all the 4th of July stuff and I could not pass it up. By why wait until next year? The colors go so awesome with my couch and furniture so why not.... I am real excited about what it will look like. I will post some pics later....

In your home are you the type who is big on theme's for each room or do you just go with whatever works for you?
I love love love to have theme's!!!!! I have an apple kitchen in the fall and right now it is full of monkey's!!!...my bathroom is currently "frogs and light green" (it was blue with rubber duckies before the frogs), my living room is red and black and modern and my family room is country and currently has an "Americana" feel to it and our office is "African American". So YES!!!! I am into theme's!!! I think that is one of the reason's I love holiday's....you get to decorate with a "theme". It is so bad...my patio has a theme...frogs (i know something about frogs....).

Antoinette. I love my name! I think it is a beautiful name (I did not always think this…when I was young I wanted to go by Marie (yes that is my real middle name) or Tony). I would not change my name for any other name in the world (thanks Mom).
2. Do you feel that a name can influence the course of a person's life? Their personality?
Hmmm….interesting question. I do think your name can influence some things in your life, however, I do not believe it makes or breaks you as a person.
3. Can a person's name sway your opinion of them? Why or why not?
Hmmmm…another interesting question. I would like to say no but in reality if I hear certain names I do have certain thought. I know shame on me!!!
4. How do you feel about the current trend toward androgynous first names?
I think it is great. There was a time when I was young that I wanted to name my daughter Tyler. I think you can be creative with names.

Yes…Lincoln and Washington. When I hear these names I think of two great men in our history.

4th of JULY!!!

Rapids and Fireworks and my first 4th of July parade (this is on my 101 list of things to do). It was a great day and we had so much fun!!! Good times!!

Sunday........today was another one of those cleaning days. Today we (I say we becuz I made my family join me in the "fun" today) tackled my backyard including my patio. It was a dusty dirty job but we were able to complete it today! Wahoo!! I was also able to get my hunny bunny to set up my "fire pit". I also set out my new carpet (I know...carpet outside???? Well...it looks cute and I like it!) and some new froggies! Yes...I even have a "theme" going on in my patio! *sigh* I am so glad I can mark this off my list...smile

This morning we had a big scare. Reggie and I were going to run some errands in the morning and as we were walking to the van we heard this pitiful "meow". We stopped and listed and did not hear anything. As we started walking we heard the "meow" again. It was coming from "Matilida". As we started getting closer the the van we could hear the "meow". I became freaked out and thought Captain Jack was stuck in the engine! Reggie opened the front of the van and there was nothing (the meow has also stopped). We were unsure where Captain was. Reggie decided to open up the back. Wow!!! When he did this we saw this blur of black wet fur fly out of the van! Wow! It was Captain! And he was stuck in the van! We tried and tried to figure out how long he had been in there. After speaking with the girls we determined Captain had been in the van at least 2 days! The temperature out side has been in the high 90's!!! Wow!! You talk about Captain using up one or two of his lives!
Well, Captain is mad at us. He drank and drank water from our front yard (we happened to be watering the front lawn!) and then he disappeared. When Captain gets mad he does not come around for several days. Time will tell.....
